The My Brestfriend Nursing Pillow Deluxe is such a thoughtful baby shower gift for the expectant mom that plans to breastfeed, or whose husband would like to bond with baby during feeding. It comes in fun, stylish fabrics in your choice of blue, pink, or green.
It is loaded with features moms love, including:
- A wraparound design that secures it to the body to help mom and baby maintain positioning and latch-on.
- A backrest to help maintain good posture during feeding and preventing sore backs and necks.
- A firm, flat cushion to keep baby from rolling.
- An adjustable, silent-release strap that fits moms or dads comfortably and unlatches without waking baby.
- Arm and elbow rests to eliminate shoulder stress.
- A convenient pocket to keep water bottles, burp cloths, phone, and other items within reach.
This deluxe version also includes extra soft baby-plush fabric, a double-featured strap with Velcro and silent-release buckle for easy, one-hand use, and a durable slipcover that stays fresh through dozens of washer.
"Green" moms will appreciate the fact that these pillows are made of recyclable foam, covered by a removable, 100% cotton, machine-washable cover. The bumps on the pillow surface are called feeding risers, they raise the baby's head to aid ingestion and digestion.
My Brest Friend fits up to a 44-inch waist and supports babies up to two years old (or 20 pounds). To use: position my Brest Friend at your waist with the clasp on your right and the backrest behind at the optimal breastfeeding height. Close the clasp or fasten Velcro. Adjust snugly. Pick up baby and sit down (resting baby's head directly on the pillow and help baby latch on). When finished feeding, squeeze the buckle and silently release the clasp. Note: Do not use this product with baby while standing. Always hold baby while using this product. My Brest Friend pillows carry a manufacturer's one-year warranty.
A bachelor, Andrew Zenoff, actually spearheaded the My Brest Friend pillow twelve years ago. He had enough distance from the breastfeeding problem to imagine a solution never considered before. He compiled a list of every complaint breastfeeding moms could think of with existing pillows. Fifty prototypes later, his team had a pillow that mom-testers loved. It is sold in over 20 countries and used in hundreds of NIC units and birthing hospitals.
