The Baby K'tan Baby Carrier (patent pending) is a unique, innovative & stylish soft baby carrier that is a cross between a sling and a more structured front baby carrier. It offers the positions and benefits of both, with added comfort and ease-of-use as compared to the traditional front carrier. It comes in fabrics that are appropriate for both moms and dads, and can be worn by either. This carrier also creates an ideal environment for premature babies and babies with special needs.

It is made entirely of soft, breathable 100% cotton cross stretch knit fabric that is strong enough to carry babies and toddlers from preemie to preschool (42 pounds). It is machine washable and dryer safe, which is absolutely convenient and necessary to clean up all the messes babies like to create. The unique design consists of two loops of fabric connected with a sliding lumbar support band, so it offers great support for your back and shoulders. It can even carry twins. Parents can carry their babies in 8 comfortable positions, while freeing up their hands to tend to other tasks or other children. Babies can be snuggled and breastfed in the Cradle and Explore positions, even while mom is on the go. They can also be carried upright, facing in or out, and as they get older, they can be carried on your hip. These positions are easy to create, with no wrapping, buckles, rings, snaps, clasps, bulking padding, metal, or plastic.

Two couples that each raised a child with special needs, in addition to two other children, founded baby K'Tan. They wanted to provide their babies with the sensory nourishment they require for optimal development, while also desiring parent-child bonding. They couldn't find what they were looking for in the market to satisfy their needs, so they created and improved their own designs until they perfected the Baby K'tan Baby Carrier. Shrinkage: For optimal fit, wash and tumble dry. This enables the carrier to conform more snugly to your body. If you are new to baby wearing, you may think the Carrier is too small, however, a snug fit is optimal for securely carrying your child and for good back support. The cotton knit fabric enables the Baby K’tan™ Baby Carrier to stretch slightly to conform to you and your child.

Between Sizes: If you fall between sizes, choose the smaller size.

Petite (5' 4" and under): Choose a smaller size.

Pregnant: Choose a size based on your pre-pregnancy size.

Positioning (without baby): When trying on the Baby K’tan™ Baby Carrier (without your child inside), the lowest point of the carrier should fall just below your chest and above your navel. When wearing your child in the carrier, the lowest point of the carrier may fall at your navel or waist, but should not fall below your hips.

Positioning (with baby): When carrying your child in the Baby K’tan™ Baby Carrier: if the lowest point of the carrier falls at or below your hips, choose a smaller size; if the lowest point of the carrier falls at your chest, choose a larger size. If the carrier feels too loose (i.e., child feels insecure, legs are bumping child's body as you walk, or carrier easily slips off your shoulder), choose a smaller size.

Grows With You: The size of the Baby K’tan™ Baby Carrier is not based upon your child’s age or weight. The cross-stretch of the cotton knit fabric and the eight different carrying positions enables the carrier to grow with your child. Accordingly, you should not require a larger size as your child grows and develops from a baby to a toddler (up to 42 lbs).

It is important that you obtain a Baby K’tan™ Baby Carrier with the optimal fit, so that you and your baby are comfortable and secure. Therefore, if the carrier you purchased does not fit correctly, you may exchange it for the proper size in accordance with our exchange policy.
